Phones: price history and deals

Smartphone prices drop mostly two to four months after launch, then again when the next model arrives (September for iPhones, early in the year for Galaxy S). Black Friday and French Days bring real discounts on last year’s models, rarely on the newest ones.

Compare today’s price with the model’s usual price over six months, not with the strike-through price. DeaLynx computes that usual price for every product and only shows a discount when today’s price is genuinely below it.

If the model you want is more than a year old, yes: its successor usually pushes its price down by 10 to 20% within a few weeks. A DeaLynx alert tells you as soon as the drop is recorded.
